Definitely July, definitely CSA week 7, and definitely hot weather. Things are growing well, and our farmers have, yet again, packed our box with goodies.
For the first week, though, there are no radishes. This was an excellent spring for radishes! The box does have these:
- romaine lettuce (2 big heads)
- cucumbers
- one round yellow summer squash
- yellow crookneck squash
- golden beets
- broccoli
- big bunch basil
- garlic heads
- cabbage
- green onions
- shallots
- new purple potatoes
I see another batch of pesto in my future – I’m going to freeze it in little cubes; it’s always great to have pesto stored away. I don’t have special plans for the rest, though I do see a honking big salad in my future. I love fresh produce!
