This is why I put up fruit in the summer. There’s nothing that feels more luxurious and decadent than peach crisp in a snowstorm.
If you freeze fruit – peaches, pears, apples, berries, whatever – then you can have amazing winter treats. And if you don’t freeze your own, well, the grocery store can supply the need. Check the freezer section and look for fruit that’s packed without sugar if possible, to get the freshest and purest taste.
Simply combine with an easy topping, bake quickly, and be ready for the taste of summer. Aaaaahhh.
20 oz, about 2 1/2 cups frozen peach slices
1 cup flour
3/4 cup sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon (optional)
1 egg, beaten
6 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
Preheat oven to 350˚F. Grease a 9-inch baking dish or pie plate. Spread the peach slices on the bottom of the dish.
Combine dry ingredients in a bowl, then add beaten egg, tossing with a fork until the mixture is crumbly. Spread this mixture loosely over the peaches. Drizzle it with melted butter.
Bake at 350˚ 35-40 minutes, until golden brown on top.
